The Engagements section of the Citizen Engagement Platform (CEP) is where citizens can actively participate in shaping policies, programs, and initiatives across Africa. This space is designed to be interactive and inclusive, allowing you to explore, filter, and contribute to activities that matter most to you.
When you visit the Engagements page (accessible from the homepage or the Engagements tab in the top menu), you will find a list of ongoing and upcoming activities. To make it easier to discover what’s relevant, the platform allows you to:
- Filter by Region – View engagements happening across different parts of Africa (e.g., East Africa, Southern Africa, North Africa, etc.), ensuring that you can connect with initiatives in your area or explore those from other regions.
- Filter by Activity Type – Select the form of engagement you want to take part in, such as surveys, polls, events, document consultations, or proposals. Each activity is designed to give you a chance to share your voice in a structured way.
- Filter by Priority Areas – Browse engagements based on themes and focus areas linked to Agenda 2063 and AU priorities (for example, youth empowerment, education, climate action, health, governance, or technology).
An Engagement is an ongoing process that requires citizen participation, while an Engagement Activity is the specific method by which you contribute your views. By combining the filters, you can personalize your experience and discover opportunities to participate in the issues that matter most to you and your community.
